Blue Marlin Overview
Blue Marlin is a large speedboat specifically designed in 2018 for the most-comfortable and convenient scuba diving day trips to Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai & Koh Bon. At nearly 16 metres (49ft) in length, the boat can easily accommodate up to 25 divers, which includes 20 guests and 5 Divemaster guides or Instructors. Propelled by three 250HP Yamaha motors, Blue Marlin reaches each dive site smoothly and quickly, thus enabling you more time in your Khao Lak hotels before and after each trip.
There is a large dive platform at the rear of the boat, but not impeded by the outboard engines. There is an area where you can enjoy the wonderful views & delicious lunch. Soft drinks are available for free, and the boat’s integrated ice box ensures that these are kept cold throughout the day. There is a private toilet that has an ingenious way of dealing with human waste while not affecting the environment.
For the journey from Khao Lak’s Baan Nam Khem Pier, guests sit in comfort with their tanks and gear behind them, instead of in front like many other scuba-diving speedboats. Each Divemaster or instructor guides no more than 4 guests, all in appropriate groups depending on their certification level & experience. The German organisation blends perfectly with Thai hospitality, to ensure a well-run but relaxing scuba diving day trip at Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai or Koh Bon. All in all, this is the perfect way to enjoy the luxury of your Khao Lak hotel and the very best diving in Thailand.
Please note that to dive with Blue Marlin you need to stay in Khao Lak (not Phuket) the night before each trip, and you need to ‘check in’ at the dive centre before 6.00pm on any day before departure.
