Bunmee 4 was purpose built for diving in 2016, and fits perfectly in the mid-range level of price & luxury. Although the boat’s size, comfort and facilities are very important, the people who own & operate them are equally vital. Bunmee 4 scores highly on all counts.The boat is 28 metres in length and nearly 6 metres wide. Built in 2016 on a steel hull, Bunmee 4 is safe, stable and comfortable in any seas in Thailand during the Similan diving season. 

Bunmee 4 can accommodate up to twenty  guests, most of whom are divers, but non-divers are welcome too. However, instead of trying to fill every trip to the maximum, the owners & management of Bunmee 4 prefer to focus on giving the very best service. This long-term goal of a great reputation and repeat customers comes from 35 years of working in scuba diving, and 25 of those years in southern Thailand. They know just what kind of service their customers expect, and they provide that throughout the season.

There are ten guest cabins on Bunmee 4, each accommodating no more than two guests. Eight of the cabins are on the main deck, and referred to as ‘Marina Cabins’ and they have double or twin beds. Each Marina cabin has its own private en suite bathroom. On Bunmee 4’s upper deck there are a couple of ‘Horizon Cabins’ which share a bathroom. The staff and crew of Bunmee 4 have their own bathroom facilities, and do not share with the guests. A safety deposit box and all air conditioning is also in each cabin. There is free Wi-Fi when the boat is within range of a cellular signal. The communal areas on Bunmee 4 are clean, spacious, and carefully designed to ensure the maximum comfort & safety. The covered dining area is where the meals are served, briefings are given, and most evenings are spent with guests socialising. There are also a couple of areas where guests can sunbathe, read a book or gaze at the stars in the clear night sky. The dive deck is large and well designed, enabling equipment to be stored, divers to gear up & move around easily, and of course dive from & climb back on to.

Unlike most other Similan liveaboard boats, each dive briefing on Bunmee 4 includes a video presentation on the boat’s large flat-screen TV. This is much better than using a whiteboard with a drawn map of each dive site. Another detail on Bunmee 4 that guests won’t find on other boats at this price range is that breakfasts can be pre-ordered. These small details can make a large difference. Dinner and lunch are served buffet style. Don’t expect to lose any weight on your Bunmee 4 diving cruise, because the food is both delicious & plentiful. A wonderful blend of Western and Thai cuisine is perfect to keep everyone fuelled for a busy day’s diving.

Finally, Bunmee 4 has a wide choice of cruise itineraries, which include three days to the southern islands of Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa & Koh Phi Phi. There are also longer trips of four days and five days which go to the Similans & Surin Islands, including Richelieu Rock, Koh Tachai & Koh Bon. The Similan/Richelieu trips come in two types. The 4D/4N trips finish in the afternoon. But the trips that start in Khao Lak and finish in Phuket give you an extra night on board, and you disembark in the morning after breakfast.
