MY Genesis 1 Overview
One of the best-known liveaboard boats out at the Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock is MY Genesis 1. She is a standard-size steel-hull vessel at 25 metres in length. With never more than twelve passengers on board there is plenty of room to relax and move around, and be spoiled by her friendly and professional crew of eight. The boat’s large dive platform is at water level, making entries and exits safe and easy. While safety comes first at all times, fun and enjoyment are extremely important on Genesis liveaboard cruises.
Each cabin is air-conditioned and has its own controller, ensuring that everyone gets a comfortable night’s sleep in preparation for the following day’s diving. There are five twin cabins and two single, each having a sea view window. When not sleeping or in the water, MY Genesis has several areas to relax or socialize, and to enjoy the fresh and tasty food on offer. Both local and international dishes are served and everything is cooked fresh every day. Prices are very competitive, but safety and service standards remain very high.
Taking into account the size of the boat compared to how many guests join each trip, Genesis is a great option. It is a favourite among divers who travel alone, pairs or friends and families. With free Nitrox fills, it's also excellent value, although not so cheap to attract many backpacker divers.
MY Genesis 1 departs from Khao Lak in the morning and guests dive three times on the first day. There’s no need to spend a night at sea before the first dive. For those who are unsure about whether to dive at the world-famous and popular Similan Islands or the more challenging Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, there’s the option of diving at both! The MY Genesis combi-package includes twenty dives and a discount. Also, MY Genesis you can get FREE Nitrox (enriched air) tank fills, provided that they are certified Nitrox divers. And if you're not Nitrox certified yet, you can do the course on the trip.

MY Genesis 1 Itinerary
MY Genesis 1 has two trip itineraries, and a third that is a combination of the two. One trip visits the Similan Islands for three days and two nights, then the next trip sails further north to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock. Divers who want to combine trips can do so with a discount, and spend one night (between trips) on the boat in the harbour.

MY Genesis 1 Transfer Details
Guests are collected free of charge from local hotels & resorts around Khao Lak.
If you're staying in Phuket you need to arrange a private taxi to arrive at Tab Lamu Pier no later than 8.45am. We can help with this service.
At the end of each cruise Genesis guests are transferred (free of charge) back to the Khao Lak destination of their choice. If you'd like to return to Phuket, the best way is to tell the team on board and they can help with a great-value taxi.

The booking process for MY Genesis is very simple & convenient. Firstly, ask us to reserve a space in your chosen cabin on your preferred dates. This is comittment free. When you are ready to confirm, we ask for 20% of the cruise price as a deposit. This payment is most-commonly made via PayPal, and there are no fees at all for you, the customer. You don't even need a Paypal account, although PayPal do encourage you to open one. The PayPal invoice can be sent to any email address and payment can be made by anyone.
The 80% balance is due 45 or 15 days before departure. Again, this payment can be made via PayPal. Balance payments made 15-44 days before departure attract a small bank fee of 2.5%. However, if guests choose to pay the full cruise price 45+ days before departure or at the time of booking, or make a Thai bank direct transfer, there are no fees.
Extras, such as national marine park fees and maybe equipment hire or other items, can be paid when you arrive in Khao Lak or on board the boat.
Cancellation policy:
45-60 days before departure = 10% of the cruise price is forfeited
22-44 days before departure = 40% of the cruise price is forfeited
0-21 days before departure = 85% of the cruise price is forfeited
Most travel insurance policies can protect you from unforeseen cancellation penalties.
